Modern smart welding machines generate a continuous stream of process data — current, voltage, wire feed speed, arc stability, duty cycle — but most operators have no visibility into these parameters during a weld. The client needed a rugged, high-visibility display board that could interface with their welding machine's control system and surface real-time values in a format that was readable under workshop conditions: bright, glanceable, and clearly organised.
We designed a dedicated display PCB with a high-brightness TFT display, reading live welding parameters via UART from the main machine controller. The UI was designed for readability at arm's length in bright industrial environments — large numeric displays, colour-coded status indicators, and a waveform view for arc quality monitoring. The enclosure is steel with a sealed front panel, rated for workshop splash and dust.
The display board was integrated successfully into the client's welding system, giving operators live visibility into all key parameters for the first time. The client reported improved weld consistency as operators could now correlate visual quality with live parameter readings. The rugged enclosure performed well across extended workshop use.
